We respect your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
FoodSkin AI helps you scan foods and analyze their nutritional content using AI.

Information we collect
Account & contact
Email address, Firebase User ID (UID), and display name (read-only in the app).
Food preferences
Dietary preferences and information you add to the app for personalized recommendations.
Purchases & subscriptions
Subscription status — product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal/expiration dates — processed via RevenueCat.
Diagnostics
Crash logs and basic performance data to fix bugs and improve stability.
Photos & uploads
If you enable scan history, food photos and analysis results are stored in your account history and retained indefinitely so you can revisit past scans. There is currently no in-app per-item deletion. When you delete your account, scan history is permanently deleted immediately. Temporary processing copies are auto-deleted within 24 hours.
No tracking.We do not sell your personal information, do not use cross-app tracking, and do not show personalized advertising.

Legal bases (GDPR, where applicable)
Contract — to provide the app and subscription features you request.
Legitimate interests — to secure and improve the service.
Consent — for optional features where required by law.
RevenueCat — In-app purchases and subscription management for the Apple App Store.
These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and security measures.

Data retention
Account & food preferences — kept until you delete your account.
Crash logs — up to 90 days.
Subscription records — retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
Uploaded photos & scan results — retained in your account scan history indefinitely while your account exists. Permanently deleted immediately upon account deletion or upon a verified deletion request to support. Temporary processing copies deleted within 24 hours.

Your choices & rights
Display name is read-only in the app.
Delete account — go to Profile → Delete Account. This removes your profile and food preferences and immediately deletes scan history. Subscriptions are managed in the Apple App Store.
Under GDPR/CCPA where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability by contacting us.

Data security
We use TLS/HTTPS in transit and rely on Firebase security controls at rest. Access is limited to authorized personnel with need-to-know. No method is 100% secure, but we continuously improve safeguards.

International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries where our processors operate (e.g. United States or European Union). We rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the effective date at the top and, when appropriate, notify you in the app.
Important: FoodSkin AI uses AI to analyze food
content, but results are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. Analysis can be affected
by lighting, image quality, food preparation, and ingredient variations. Exercise
caution when using scan results for dietary decisions, especially if you have food
allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions. This app is for informational
purposes only and does not replace professional nutritional advice or medical
consultation.
