No Tracking / No Ads

We respect your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. This app helps users scan foods and analyze their nutritional content using AI technology.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Contact Information

  • Email address
  • Firebase User ID (UID)
  • Display name (read-only in app)

1.2 User-Provided Food Preferences

Your food preferences and dietary information that you add to the app for personalized recommendations.

1.3 Purchases & Subscriptions

Subscription status (product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal/expiration dates) processed via RevenueCat.

1.4 Diagnostics & App Performance

Crash logs and basic performance data to fix bugs and improve stability.

1.5 Photos / Uploads

If you enable scan history, we store food photos and extracted nutritional analysis results in your account history and retain them indefinitely by default so you can revisit past scans. There is currently no in-app per-item deletion for scan history. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your scan history immediately. You may also contact us at [email protected] to request deletion of specific items where required by law.

For temporary processing copies (separate from your account history), images are used only to analyze food content and are automatically deleted within 24 hours after processing.

No Tracking: We do not sell your personal information, we do not use cross-app tracking, and we do not show personalized advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide core features: authenticate your account, store your food preferences, and analyze foods using AI.
  • Unlock and validate premium features based on your subscription status.
  • Diagnose crashes and improve reliability and performance.
  • Respond to support requests.

3. Legal Bases (GDPR, where applicable)

  • Contract: to provide the app and subscription features you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure and improve the service (e.g., crash prevention).
  • Consent: for optional features where required by law.

4. Third-Party Processors

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore/Storage, Crashlytics/Performance.
  • RevenueCat: In-app purchases and subscription management for the Apple App Store.

These providers process data on our behalf under their terms and security measures.

5. Data Retention

  • Account & food preferences: kept until you delete your account.
  • Crash logs: retained for up to 90 days.
  • Subscription records: retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
  • Uploaded photos & scan results: retained in your account's scan history indefinitely while your account exists. We permanently delete history immediately upon account deletion, or upon a verified deletion request to support. Temporary processing copies are deleted within 24 hours.

6. Your Choices & Rights

  • Display name: read-only in the app.
  • Delete Account: go to Profile → Delete Account. This removes your profile and food preferences from our systems and immediately deletes your scan history. (Subscriptions are managed in the Apple App Store.)
  • Under GDPR/CCPA (where applicable), you may request access, correction, deletion, or portability by contacting us.

Food Analysis Disclaimer

Important: This app uses AI technology to analyze food content, but the results are not guaranteed to be 100% accurate. Food analysis may be affected by various factors including lighting, image quality, food preparation methods, and ingredient variations. Always exercise caution when using scan results for dietary decisions, especially if you have food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions. This app is for informational purposes only and should not replace professional nutritional advice or medical consultation.

7. Data Security

We use TLS/HTTPS in transit and rely on Firebase security controls at rest. Access is limited to authorized personnel with need-to-know. No method is 100% secure, but we continuously improve safeguards.

8. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries where our processors operate (e.g., the United States or the European Union). We rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, when appropriate, notify you in the app.
